When it comes to the gerotor (or cycloidal) hydraulic motor, many people may be unfamiliar with it. It employs a high-precision sealing design, enabling it to withstand significant back pressure and allowing for both series and parallel connections. Due to its high efficiency and cost-effectiveness, it is widely utilized in moderate-load applications. Since its introduction, the hollow-type hydraulic motor (a variant or related concept, depending on context) has garnered unanimous recognition and favor from many industry clients. So, what advantages does the gerotor hydraulic motor possess to earn such high praise? Let's take a look!

The power unit typically utilizes an oil pump as the power source, usually a positive displacement pump, to meet the requirements for the speed of the actuator's movement.

The principle of the gerotor hydraulic motor: It is a device that transmits pressure using hydraulic oil. When hydraulic oil transmits pressure within a sealed container, it adheres to Pascal's principle. The hydraulic transmission system of an oil press consists of a power unit, a control unit, an actuator, an auxiliary unit, and the working medium. The power unit of a braking hydraulic motor usually employs an oil pump, typically a positive displacement pump. To meet the requirements for the actuator's movement speed, a single oil pump or multiple oil pumps may be used in minimum hydraulic motors. For low-pressure applications (pressure below 2.5 MPa), a vane pump is used; for medium-pressure applications (pressure below 6.3 MPa), an axial piston pump is employed; and for high-pressure applications (pressure below 32.0 MPa), a gear pump is utilized.

Both oil presses and gerotor hydraulic motors are heat transfer devices within hydraulic transmission systems. The difference lies in that a hydraulic pump converts the mechanical energy of a driving motor into the pressure energy of hydraulic oil, serving as the power unit in a hydraulic transmission system. Common hydraulic pumps and motors in hydraulic transmission systems are of the positive displacement type, with their operating principles relying on changes in sealed volume for oil suction and pressure generation. From the perspective of gerotor hydraulic motor principles, most hydraulic pumps and oil motors are reversible, meaning that when pressure oil is input, the hydraulic pump transforms into an oil motor, capable of outputting rotational speed and torque. However, structurally, there are still some differences between hydraulic pumps and oil motors.
